The Trail Nocturne de Bonnieux begins at dusk in Bonnieux, Vaucluse, Provence, sending runners into the Petit Luberon by headlamp. Organized by the Bonnieux Run and Bike association since 2011, this late-November trail race offers two solo distances: a 12 km with 450 m of elevation gain and a 25 km option. The 12 km race, more popular, is suited for trained, well-equipped runners, including juniors with parental consent.
Most of the running occurs on narrow singletrack, where the night setting heightens awareness of footing, pacing, and navigation compared to daytime road races. The 12 km route is technical initially, becoming more runnable later, with one aid station mid-course and a buffet at the finish. The 25 km course demands more from participants, particularly in its initial section, and features three aid stations along with spectator viewpoints. The event draws a mix of amateur and experienced trail runners, with the post-race meal, buffet, and local craft beer contributing to the atmosphere.
