About this race

The Trail St Roch de Caveirac takes runners up Saint-Roch hill above Caveirac, a village in the south of the Gard region. This event features five races, primarily on natural terrain in the garrigue, not on roads. The solo distances are 44 km with 1000 m of elevation gain, 24 km with 490 m, and 13 km with 290 m. A 13 km night duo race, part of the Trophée Gardois des Duos Nocturnes, is also offered, alongside a backyard-style 7.5 km format. In this format, participants must complete each lap within an hour to begin the next, continuing for up to eight hours. The longer courses utilize single-track trails and forest roads spanning three communes, with the 44 km extending to Clarensac and St Côme. Approximately 85% of the running is off-road, passing through holm oaks, strawberry trees, cistus, and the characteristic dry scrubland vegetation. The course does not feature major ascents but is continuously undulating, with frequent rises, descents, turns, and short bursts of speed that disrupt a steady rhythm. Wider forest sections provide opportunities for overtaking. Post-race food is served in the arena, and the event attracts hundreds of participants while maintaining a local club race atmosphere.
