About this race
Trail Urbain Longwy is an urban trail event held in Longwy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France’s Grand Est region, typically in mid-September. Runners and walkers traverse Longwy’s historic districts, with routes reflecting the city’s Vauban fortifications, thermal history, and steelmaking heritage. The primary running distances are 5.6 km, 10 km, and 21 km, featuring approximately 137 m, 220 m, and 424 m of elevation gain, respectively. The 5.6 km and 10 km running events are untimed, complementing the 5.6 km and 10 km walks, catering to participants seeking a challenging run, an introduction to urban trails, or a leisurely exploration of the city.
The 5.6 km route offers a discovery option, omitting the Grimpette climb. The 10 km route incorporates a moderate challenge, including the Grimpette. The 21 km course presents the most difficulty, featuring the montée du Crassier as its notable ascent. Over 1,000 participants attend annually, supported by diverse formats: complimentary children’s races, a free 2 km race for teenagers, school competitions, and three-person team challenges on the main distances. The event village provides amenities such as childcare, bag check, massages, and refreshments, including barbecue services before, during, and after the races.
