About this race
Triathlon de Chalain - M takes place in mid-June at Lac de Chalain in France’s Jura region, within the Pays des Lacs. It is a straightforward "triple effort" race: swim, bike, and run, headquartered at the Domaine de Chalain on the lake’s eastern end. The location features surrounding cliffs and a distinct outdoor atmosphere. The event is open to triathletes of all ages and skill levels, attracting both regular competitors and individuals drawn to the clear water, rural roads, and forest paths.
The swim occurs in the lake’s very clear turquoise water. The bike course follows quiet country roads, and the run route winds through shaded paths. Approximately 180 volunteers assist with the race and on-site operations. The accommodation options are arranged for a race weekend: athletes may stay in chalets with a two-night minimum stay, or utilize event camping facilities that lack electricity. Tents, vans, and small campervans are permitted in the camping area, but caravans are not.
