About this race
Urban Trail de Rouen starts on Ile Lacroix and sends runners into the center of Rouen, France, rather than out onto mountain paths or forest tracks. It is an urban trail race with two options: a shorter Parcours Patrimoine of about 9.5 to 10 km and a longer Parcours UTR of about 20 km. Rouen Triathlon organizes the event in close cooperation with the city, and both races have sold out in recent listings. The shorter route keeps the climbing light, with roughly 48 meters of ascent and descent, while the longer route adds a much harder profile with about 270 meters up and 270 meters down.
The appeal is in the access: the routes pass through monuments and historic sites in Rouen, with some sections described by the organizers as exclusive to the event. The Parcours Patrimoine is aimed at amateurs who want a manageable run through the city’s cultural landmarks, while the Parcours UTR is built for more experienced runners and climbs to the Sainte-Catherine panorama above Rouen. Volunteers are stationed along the course to direct and encourage runners, and the field is broad, with age eligibility stretching from older adults to teenagers depending on the distance. Recent participation was around 1,300 runners, which gives the race the feel of a busy local event rather than a small guided run.
