Vaulx Tour Trail 2026

Vaulx Tour Trail is a trail-running event based in Notre-Dame-de-Vaulx in Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, usually held around mid-September. It offers several off-road distances, from a beginner-friendly 6 km to longer 10 km, 20 km and 30 km races, plus a 10 km walk for people who want the same mountain air at an easier pace. The event is built for families as well as runners, with free children’s races and discovery circuits for ages 3 to 12. The routes run across the Plateau Matheysin and through nearby communes including Saint-Jean-de-Vaulx, La Motte-d’Aveillans, Pierre-Châtel, Saint-Théoffrey, Laffrey and Saint-Georges-de-Commiers. Depending on the distance, runners may pass Pierre Percée, mountain lakes, the Connex and open pastures, with the landscape shifting between water, hills and high countryside. The race grew out of a parents’ association linked to the local school, and that origin still shows in its small-community feel: more than 400 people sign up each year, and around 80 volunteers help run the day.
