Vivicitta is a two-day spring running festival in Budapest, with the start and finish located in a green, flower-filled park on Margaret Island. It is Hungary's largest two-day spring sports event, designed for a wide range of runners, not just fast specialists. The main event is a half marathon, with AIMS-certified 7 km and 10 km races also included, alongside shorter runs from around 500-750 m, walking options, and city tours.
The longer route functions as a running tour of Budapest. Runners cross several bridges over the Danube, follow paths near the river, and see Buda Castle from the bank. Sunday focuses on the half marathon and 10 km race, while Saturday features the 7 km Midicitta and shorter distances for newer runners. Professionals, club runners, amateurs, families, and first-timers can all find a suitable distance, contributing to a citywide sports-festival atmosphere rather than a single-race feel.
