ZE Race is a long-distance downwind paddling race in Guadeloupe, organized by the Watermen Karukera Club. It is nicknamed “ZE Caribbean Molokai.” The race is designed for ocean craft, not road-style racing. Stand up paddleboards of any size, SUP foils, prone paddleboards, surfskis, and outrigger canoes can all compete. Solo and double entries are permitted for the main race, but relay teams are not.
The full ZE Race course spans 40 km from Pointe des Châteaux to the Bas du Fort marina. The Mini ZE Race offers solo paddlers a 7 km option, starting from Datcha beach in Le Gosier and finishing at the same marina. The participants can include SUP racers, foil paddlers, OC1, OC2, V4, and V6 canoe crews, and K1 and K2 surfski paddlers. This diversity makes the event feel like a gathering of ocean watermen rather than a single-discipline race. Rentals for race SUP boards, OC1 and OC2 canoes, and surfskis are available, increasing accessibility for paddlers traveling without their own equipment.
