About this race
The Blue Castle Run begins and ends next to The Blue Pool nature reserve in Dorset. Runners will complete two laps of the water during this 7-mile trail race. It is chip-timed, begins at 9:30 am, and is part of The Purbeck Trail Series. Entry numbers are limited, and the race also has capped canicross entries for participants with dogs.
The course follows ancient woodland trails, hills, heath, ridges, and valleys, offering views across the Purbecks and glimpses of a castle along the route. This edition reverses the route, allowing returning runners to experience the same terrain from a different perspective. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women, and mixed canicross teams also have their own top-three prizes. All finishers will receive a medal. Entry includes access to The Blue Pool for the runner, one adult guest, and up to two children under 16, enabling families to enjoy the nature walks, picnic spots, and tea room post-race.
