About this race
The Dalby Dash 10K is a Remembrance Sunday race held in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire. It begins shortly after the two-minute silence. This traffic-free 10K takes place on a mix of private tarmac road and hard forest trail, starting and finishing at the Low Dalby visitor centre near Pickering. Entry is open to all runners, with a field capped at 600 participants, maintaining a small-race atmosphere while ensuring a sell-out field. The event supports service personnel and local charities, and is organized in association with Pickering Running Club.
The route includes an initial steady climb from Low Dalby along House Dale for the first two miles, with prizes for the first man and woman to reach the summit. Beyond this, the terrain shifts to uneven compacted stone before descending through Sand Dale and Heck Dale. The final stretch runs alongside Dalby Beck back to Low Dalby and the finish line. All finishers receive a Dalby Dash memento. Additional prizes are awarded to the first five men and women, veteran categories, and the first local man and woman residing in the YO18 postcode area.
