About this race
The Early Brigg Sprint Tri is a sprint triathlon held at Ancholme Leisure Centre in Brigg, North Lincolnshire. It begins with a 400m pool swim, after which participants cycle on local roads. As it takes place early in the triathlon season, many use it to assess their winter training, practice transitions, and test new bike equipment or race attire before focusing on larger events.
The course is designed for speed and confidence. It involves a short transition from the pool to the bike, a flat cycling segment on well-surfaced roads, and a 5km run on traffic-free paths through the countryside near Brigg. FastFWD Sports organizes the event, offering spectators numerous viewing points. The race is suitable for both novice triathletes and experienced competitors aiming for personal bests. Triathlon England has recognized it as Yorkshire's best small event on multiple occasions, reflecting its straightforward, welcoming club-race atmosphere.
