About this race
EnduranceLife Gower is a trail running event on the Gower Peninsula in Wales, offering 10K, half marathon, marathon, and ultra distances. The listed distances run long compared to road races: 6.8 miles for the 10K, 14.3 for the half, 27.4 for the marathon, and 34.2 for the ultra. It is a challenging off-road day, not a flat time trial, featuring grass, moor, beach, and rock underfoot. The climbing begins at 583 feet on the 10K and reaches 3,874 feet on the ultra, meaning even the shorter races require runners to navigate uneven ground and significant hills.
The routes traverse coastal trails within Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, incorporating cliff tops, downland, woodland, sand dunes, and beaches. Entries are limited to preserve the coastal paths, resulting in small fields across the distance categories instead of large mass starts. Finishers gain points for the Endurancelife season leaderboard, and the event is also part of the UTMB World Series. Post-race, participants gather at The Kings Head in Llangennith for food and live music, establishing a distinct local atmosphere beyond the course.
