FEARmanagh

About this race
FEARmanagh sends racers into the rough country of Fermanagh for a Saturday adventure race featuring biking, kayaking, and a demanding climb, offered in either a 35km or 74km route. The event is situated within Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, where quiet back roads traverse limestone and sandstone formations millions of years old. It is organised and funded by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, with registration and results managed via SiEntries.
The course combines road riding with a 2km kayak leg on Lough Erne’s rocky shore, followed by the Magho Cliff Challenge: a 304-metre climb that many finishers cite as the day’s most significant test. Lough Navar Forest and the surrounding Geopark lend the race a wild, open character, distinct from an urban event. Solo participants and teams compete, and past entrants highlight the volunteers, competitor interaction, food, warm showers, medal, hoody, and the finish-line atmosphere as reasons for their return. The Ciarán Murphy Memorial Trophy is also presented, adding a local tradition beyond the race route.
