About this race
The Fleet Feet Triathletes Lochside Aquathlon is an early-season swim-run event at Lochside. It begins with a pool swim followed by a traffic-free tarmac run. Two distances are available: the Sprint, which combines a 750m swim with a 5km run, and the Super Sprint, featuring a 300m swim and a 2.5km run. This format is suitable for first-time multisport racers seeking a structured introduction, and it also serves experienced triathletes as a brief race effort before the main season.
Swimmers are seeded based on their estimated swim time provided during registration, organizing the pool segment by ability rather than a mass start. The Super Sprint swim distance was reduced following prior participant feedback, making this option less daunting for new competitors. The event adheres to British Triathlon rules; participants require a race pass or Triathlon Scotland membership, with registration including identity and pass verification. Fleet Feet Triathletes also conduct club training sessions in Aberdeen for athletes seeking swim and run support prior to the event.
