About this race
The Guernsey Marathon begins and ends in St Peter Port, sending runners on a 26.2-mile route around the island. This April road marathon in the Channel Islands includes the Sure Marathon, the Mourant Relay Race, and the Guernsey Marathon Mile. The relay allows teams of two or five to divide the marathon distance, and the mile race offers a short waterfront run in St Peter Port suitable for all ages.
The course winds along Guernsey’s coastline, utilizing lanes, sea views, and island landmarks rather than a typical city street layout. While elite and semi-professional runners compete at the front, the event also attracts colleagues sharing relay legs, families fundraising for charity, and considerable local support. Over 150 volunteers assist annually, and the event has generated more than £45,000 for local charities.
