Runners in this series use a Hampton Court setting, with routes that pass the palace and the riverside grounds in South West London. The festival links half marathon options around Hampton Court, Kingston and the River Thames, with the October races running alongside the original Hampton Court Half Marathon in February. These are road races designed for people who want a quick, clearly measured course rather than a technical trail or hill-heavy challenge.
The main Hampton Court route is flat and fast, starting from the Thames Ditton area and running close to the palace grounds. Pacemakers are offered for runners chasing a target, and the event also has marshals, sweep marshals and first aid along the course. Finishers receive a tech tee, medal, race photos, snacks and drinks, while King Henry VIII and Tudor-costumed supporters add a very local touch. The original Hampton Court Half has been running for more than a decade and is often used as preparation for spring marathons.
