Holmfirth 10K Road Race 2026

The Holmfirth 10K Road Race is a hilly 10K run starting at Hade Edge Bandhall in the Holme Valley. Runners collect their numbers on race morning. The course uses quiet country roads, differing from a flat town-centre loop, and appeals to those seeking a challenging rural race over a fast, personal-best focused run. The route ascends and descends through countryside near Holmfirth, offering views of Winscar Reservoir, Thurlstone Moor, rolling hills, and open moorland. The race evolved from the older Holmfirth 15, first held in 1968. The current 10K course was established to showcase more of the valley and surrounding area. Holmfirth Harriers AC contribute a portion of the proceeds to The Kirkwood, the hospice for Kirklees; participants may add their own donation during entry. Awards are given to the top three men and women, veteran age categories, and men's and women's teams. Additional Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association championship results and prizes are awarded when the race serves as that competition.
