Itchen Valley Summer Challenge Race 2 2026

Race 2 is a club cross-country fixture at Ardingly, part of the Sussex Cross Country League season. It is a low-key runners' race: pre-enter online, collect an individual number at registration, and line up with approximately 140 other starters rather than a large field. The route uses a shorter loop and a longer loop, both including an uphill section. The women's race is 5km, made up of one 2km loop and one 3km loop; the men's format adds another long loop. The course is open enough that one club write-up compared it to charging across a savannah. The wider local scene also runs 9am Christmas Day and New Year's Day events where volunteers are needed and fancy dress is encouraged but optional.
