Junior Triathlon 2026

The Deva Junior Triathlon, held at Christleton Sports Centre in Christleton, Chester, is exclusively for children aged 8 to 16. Taking place in July, the distances are tailored to age groups, offering shorter, manageable courses for younger athletes and longer options for older juniors where permitted. The event has a limit of 225 entries, with each participant competing in a single race. The Tristart category for 8-year-olds involves a 50-metre swim, a 500-metre bike ride, and a 400-metre run. Athletes aged 9 to 11 can compete in the Super Sprint, Sprint, or their designated age-specific distance. Those aged 11 to 16 have the option of the Sprint or their age-specific distance. The race age is determined by the competitor's age at the close of the competition year. The Deva Junior Triathlon was recognized as Triathlon England North West Regional Children’s Event of the Year, and the organizers emphasize the critical role of volunteers in the event's success.
