About this race
The Jurassic Coast 40 Miler is a 40-mile ultra on the Dorset coast, starting at Abbotsbury and finishing at Lulworth Cove. It follows the South West Coast Path, with event HQ on Portland, and it is open to people who want to run, walk, or simply keep moving until the job is done. The setup is practical: runners register at HQ, travel by bus to the start, and get transport back from the finish area. Entry includes a GPS tracker, live tracking maps, food and drink on the route, medical cover, parking, and support for anyone who has to retire.
The course is point-to-point rather than a loop, so the day is a steady journey east along the coast instead of a return to the same start line. Finishers get a bespoke medal and event T-shirt. Epic Endurance Events CIC organises the race, and the available runner feedback points to a well-supported event with a broad field: one review mentions people of all standards and abilities doing it in their own way, while another says the route was easy to navigate and that runners encouraged each other along the way.
