About this race
The Jurassic Express Trail Run begins on Swanage seafront in Dorset and concludes at Corfe Castle. Participants can select from 21km, 16.5km, or 10.5km trail routes. This is a chip-timed coastal run, not a road race, supported by water stations, marshals, and first aid. The shorter distances allow varied runners to participate together without needing to complete the full half marathon.
The courses depart the beach and traverse runnable South Coast terrain, featuring firm chalk paths, sandy trails, coastal stretches, and countryside tracks. Runners will see Old Harry Rocks, Studland Bay, the Jurassic Coast, and Corfe Castle, finishing their run below the castle ruins. A unique aspect of this race is the option to return to Swanage via a private steam train on the heritage Swanage Railway. All finishers are awarded a medal, a drink, goodies, and a personalised certificate at Corfe.
