Ken Bingley Memorial 10k 2026

The Ken Bingley Memorial 10k is a one-lap, multi-terrain race held in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire. Race headquarters are at Frickley Athletic Football Club Pavilion. Organised by Ackworth Road Runners, the course is an undulating 10 kilometres, meaning runners should anticipate more than a flat road run. The field is limited to 500 participants. Water stations and distance markers are provided. Practical facilities include toilets; however, there are no changing rooms, showers, or baggage storage. The race honours Ken Bingley, a former runner for Wakefield Harriers and later Ackworth Road Runners. He set club age-category records across various distances and was a consistent participant in the London Marathon. Bingley was a well-known figure on the local race circuit and at Pontefract Parkrun. The event also encourages participants to remember other lost loved ones. Each finisher gets a memento, and trophies are awarded to the top three male and female runners. All profits are divided equally between the MS Trust and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
