Knowl Hill Fell Race

The Knowl Hill Fell Race begins at Norden Bowling Club in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, with runners starting at 11:00 am. It is a challenging six-mile fell race, not a road run. The route quickly establishes this with rough terrain, reservoir banks, moorland, and a scramble requiring hands and feet on the ascent. The course runs alongside Greenbooth and Naden Reservoirs before ascending onto the moors and circling the Knowl Hill trig point. Following the trig, there is a rapid descent toward the reservoirs, one additional climb, and then a drop to Doctor Dam, with the finish line approximately 200 metres past it. Records from recent years indicate it is a regular local fell race, and participants can also connect their participation to charitable donations via GoFundMe.
