Leeds Country Way Winter Ultra North

The Leeds Country Way Winter Ultra North is a January ultra held in West Yorkshire. It begins at St John's Community Church in Greengates, on the Bradford side of Leeds, at 8:00am. This start time is significant in midwinter, as the entire Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras format is designed to fit a long footpath challenge within the limited daylight hours of January. The North race is one of two consecutive point-to-point ultras that circumnavigate Leeds using local footpaths. Instead of a road marathon finishing in the city centre, this event offers a practical winter trail run. Participants navigate sections of the Leeds Country Way along the city's perimeter, with the course determined by daylight, weather conditions, and the necessity of maintaining progress over varied terrain.
