Manchester 100 begins and ends in Wythenshawe Park, directing riders into the Cheshire countryside for either 100 km or 161 km. This is a fully supported cycling sportive, meaning the emphasis is on completing a long ride, not racing for a podium. The shorter route covers 62 miles, and the longer route is the full 100-mile challenge. Cyclists aged 14 and older can enter. The routes are marked, with marshals, feed stations, mechanical assistance, toilets, parking, food and drink, medical aid, and hydration points provided. Bike Events organizes the ride, and the number of participants is limited to 1,000. Riders who finish get a medal. The event also collects funds for local causes, contributing to its atmosphere as a community ride rather than a pure endurance test.
