About this race

Coniston hosts the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100, known as the "Ultra Tour of the Lake District". This is considered a spectacular long distance trail race, attracting dedicated ultra runners to the fells. The route crosses the Lake District, passing Ambleside, but deliberately bypasses the 'popular' Lakeland passes, providing a challenging and remote experience. With the 100-mile course covering 22,493 ft of elevation, this is a formidable challenge requiring significant endurance. Participants are ultra runners testing their limits against the demanding terrain of the Lake District. The race demands respect, offering an uncompromising journey through some of the UK's most challenging trails.
