About this race
The New Forest Trail Run takes place at Roundhill Campsite near Brockenhurst, within the New Forest National Park. Participants can choose from three distances: 21.6k, 16.7k, and 10k. These routes utilize wide, hard-packed gravel paths, offering a forest terrain experience without the technicality of mountain trails, making it suitable for runners seeking a less rugged course.
The course winds through old woodlands and open heathlands, where New Forest ponies, horses, donkeys, and deer are often seen near the paths. The terrain is firm and maintained, featuring gradual inclines and declines; the 21.6k route includes approximately 185 m of elevation gain. Course markings consist of pink arrows and tape, with caution signs indicating hazards and road crossings. The event is committed to being plastic-free, with water stations providing reusable cups or bottles. Entry fees cover chip timing, refreshments, first aid, marshals, a metal medal, a finisher gift, and a personalized certificate.
