RunThrough Run Media City 5k & 10k

The Run Media City Christmas 5k & 10k takes place on a Saturday morning in December at Media City, Salford, offering 5k, 10k, and junior races. The start and finish are located in Media City centre at M50 2EQ. This event is part of the broader Run Media City series, which holds monthly races throughout the year. The Christmas edition presents a festive take on the standard city-centre course, encouraging participants to wear Santa hats, reindeer antlers, or other holiday attire. The course consists of a flat, fast 2.5km loop on paths and pavements within Media City. The 5k race comprises two laps, and the 10k involves four. The loop passes by the Imperial War Museum, ITV studios, and BBC studios, offering runners familiar sights without leaving the Media City vicinity. It is not a closed-road event, and entries are limited to approximately 500 participants, with previous editions reaching this capacity. Participants receive chip-timed results, complimentary official photographs, post-race treats, and a themed medal. The event also supports Breast Cancer Now and Moya Cole Hospice, with opportunities to run in remembrance of a loved one.
