SATURN - Scare Bear Run 2026 - North

Scare Bear Run - North is a Sunday running event held at Durham Amateur Rowing Club on Green Lane in Old Elvet, starting officially at 9:30am. It is structured as a seven-hour time challenge, allowing runners to select their own distance rather than being committed to a single fixed race. The shortest distance is 3km, and walkers are welcome, as are runners of all abilities. The course uses laps starting from the rowing club area; a full lap is 7km, though it might change to a 3.28-mile loop if conditions necessitate. Participants can complete any number of laps within the time limit. Three full laps equate to a half marathon. There are 3km and 5km turn points within the lap, enabling younger runners to adhere to UK Athletics distance regulations. The Halloween theme is reflected in the Scare Bear concept and the subtly spooky Care Bears-inspired medal.
