About this race
The Sir Titus Summer Trot begins and ends in Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage village adjacent to Salts Mill in West Yorkshire. This summer canal-side race series, organized by It's Grim Up North Running, offers distances ranging from 5K to ultra, including 10K, 10 miles, half marathon, 20 miles, and marathon options. The structure accommodates a diverse field: beginners can select a shorter distance, while marathoners and ultra runners will find a flat course conducive to consistent pacing.
The course follows the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath, with the marathon completed as an out-and-back journey. The terrain is predominantly flat and smooth, emphasizing rhythm over ascents, turns, or technical sections. The route is fully marshalled, featuring aid stations approximately every 3 miles. Toilets are available at the start and finish, and Saltaire station is a short walk from the starting point. Participants receive a custom medal and edible treats. The Saltaire location provides convenient options for post-race relaxation at Salts Mill, or nearby cafes and bars.
