About this race
The Skedaddle Speyside 10K is a point-to-point trail race covering approximately 10 km in Speyside. It begins at Archiestown Village Square, near the village hall, and concludes at Cardhu Distillery. This event is included in the Speyside Series, which also features the Archiestown 5K and Dufftown 5 mile races. Participants are provided with shuttle transport, water stations, and first aid support, accommodating the one-way nature of the course.
The course follows a gradual ascent for about a mile into Elchies woods, utilizing wide land-management firetracks. It then becomes more undulating, offering views towards Little Conval, Meikle Conval, and Ben Rinnes. Approximately four miles into the race, the terrain narrows and may become muddy, leading to a tight gate before a swift downhill section on Mannoch Road. The route crosses the B9102, with marshals assisting runners, though the road remains open. Finally, it descends around the right side of Cardhu reservoir, passing Highland cows, with expansive views across Speyside and, in clear conditions, the Cairngorms.
