SkyRun The Mournes 2026

SAT, October 10, 2026 · NI , United Kingdom

About this race

SkyRun The Mournes begins at Race HQ in Donard Park, directing runners into the Mourne Mountains in October for three mountain races held on the same day. The longest race, Mourne SkyUltra, covers 50 km with 3,500 m of elevation gain and a 12-hour time limit. Mourne Skyline is 35 km with 2,700 m of climbing and an 8-hour limit. Mourne SkyTrail is 20 km with 1,300 m of ascent and a 4-hour limit. The courses are marked and marshalled, featuring ascents through key Mournes landscapes and segments along the Mourne Wall. The Skyline race is a round in the Irish Skyrunning Championships, and all three distances are part of the Skyrunner UK & Ireland Series, awarding points to the top 20 male and female competitors. Entry is limited to 200 for the SkyUltra and 300 for each of the other races, attracting dedicated mountain runners alongside championship contenders. Participants receive a buffet and a Mourne Mountain Brewery ale or a soft drink, along with a UK-made wooden medal or a comparable donation to the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team.
