About this race
The Snowdonia Trail Challenge is a trail running event held in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, Wales, with races in early July. Participants can select from four off-road distances: 13 km, 24.5 km, 42 km, and 55 km, covering a range from a shorter mountain run to an ultra-distance event. These races take place within the Snowdonia mountain range and are UTMB Index races.
The courses feature natural terrain across mountains, forests, and countryside, avoiding city roads. The 55 km race is the longest on offer, featuring 3,328 metres of climbing, presenting the primary challenge of the weekend. The shorter distances provide an opportunity for trail runners to experience the Snowdonia setting without undertaking the full ultra route.
