About this race
On the Gower Peninsula, Swimrun Gower offers a genuine coast-and-coves day out, distinct from a typical road race. Race HQ and the finish are located at Underhill Park in Mumbles. The event is described as a "swimrun adventure for all," yet it provides sufficient challenge for "gritty rascals" seeking a more demanding experience. The 2026 format maintains a straightforward approach: sea, trail, repeat.
The course transitions between saltwater swims and wild trails, consistently offering sea views. It moves from the coastline to coves, and from trails to waves. Participants should anticipate wet footwear, open-water swimming segments, uneven running terrain, and ascents that make the vistas around Clyne Gardens and Kilvey Hill rewarding. Both solo participants and teams of two compete, and the sport's inherent unique feature is that "going for a swim" is an integral part of the race.
