Taunton Half Marathon 2027

The Taunton Half Marathon is a road race held in Taunton town centre. The main event begins in the morning, with a Kids Kilometre fun run taking place shortly afterward. Race headquarters, the start, and the finish are all located in the town centre. Runners complete the course along North Street, with the Market House visible as they approach the finish. The town centre is closed to traffic during the event, enhancing spectator viewing and runner safety. The race has been a fixture on the local running scene for almost 40 years. It attracts participants ranging from individuals running their first half marathon to club runners aiming for personal bests and elite athletes competing for victory. Sections of the route benefit from enthusiastic local support, as residents line the course to encourage runners during challenging miles. New race directors, who have experience with trail events, are now managing the race. Their goal is to maintain the polish of a traditional road race while fostering a greater sense of community. The Kids Kilometre shares the same start and finish lines as the main race, and all participants in both events receive a medal.
