About this race
Putney Bridge serves as the straightforward start for a long upstream journey on the Thames Path Challenge, with England's most famous river as the guide. It has the atmosphere of a charity event rather than a closed-road race: walkers, joggers, and runners share the towpath, with the River Thames providing the backdrop and Get Kids Going! fundraising integrated into the event.
The route follows the well-used towpath through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor before continuing to Henley and a finish line by the river. Expect miles similar to a trail run with the river nearby, sections of attractive English countryside, and many participants completing it at their own pace because there is a distance suitable for all.
