About this race

From Travelodge Stonehouse, The MTC Bristol Severn begins promptly, rejoining the Severn Path and returning to the river at Purton. It has the character of a straightforward ultra: relatively flat, with a single small incline, but long enough that pacing, nutrition, and foot care remain important. The course briefly deviates from the river at Sharpness and Newton before "circumnavigating the Berkeley Power Station," then follows Oldbury-on-Severn, Oldbury Pill, and Littleton Pill downstream. Participants pass under the M48 and M4 motorway bridges and "arrive at the mouth of the Severn ‘Severn Beach’," which suggests a distinct point-to-point finish rather than an arbitrary line on the ground. The participants are ultra runners, and finishers receive a "bespoke medal and a MTC head visor."
