The MTC Oxford Ultra
Friday, August 7, 2026 · Oxford OX1 4XG, United Kingdom
About this race
The MTC Oxford Ultra is a 49-mile (78 km) ultra from Oxford to Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, England. It begins at the Travelodge on Abingdon Road in Oxford and is categorized as a city-to-city road running event with a significant natural component. The race is set for early August, with a straightforward objective: depart Oxford on foot and continue until Henley.
The route reconnects with the Thames Path after approximately half a mile, then traces the river past Sandford Weir before proceeding through Culham and Cholsey. It deviates from the riverbank towards Moulsford, circles back past Streatley and Whitchurch-on-Thames, then crosses Purley Park, Tilehurst, and Reading before concluding at The Catherine Wheel on Hart Street in Henley-on-Thames. Participants receive a custom MTC Oxford Ultra medal and a technical shirt, mug, or hat. The first male and female finishers are also awarded a custom Oxford Ultra medal.
