About this race

The Norfolk Mardle 100 is a 103 km Audax ride starting from The Glasshouse in central Norwich at 09:00, with a time limit of 8 hours and 14 minutes. This Brevet Populaire, a shorter audax format often used as an introduction to long-distance, self-supported cycling, begins opposite Elm Hill. It includes controls in Norwich and Harleston and allows E-Brevet validation. Entries are limited to 200 riders, with a speed range of 12.5-25 km/h and 537 m of climbing. The route departs Norwich southward, reaching the countryside near Loddon before proceeding through Bungay to Harleston, the halfway free control. The return journey heads west via Attleborough, then turns north towards Norwich. "Mardle" is Norfolk dialect for a friendly informal chat, reflecting the social aspect of audax riding. The event supports Audax UK’s 50:50@50 programme, which aims for at least half the participants to be women, while remaining open to all.
