The Pilgrim Challenge 2027

SAT, February 6, 2027 · Farnham , United Kingdom

About this race

The Pilgrim Challenge is a two-day, 66-mile winter ultra on the North Downs Way National Trail in southern England. It follows a historic route once used by pilgrims heading for Canterbury, with February weather, muddy trails, and rolling hills part of the challenge. The event is structured as a supported weekend rather than a simple point-to-point race: luggage transfers, hot meals, aid stations, route signage, GPX files, and an overnight stay are included. The route passes through woodlands, open fields, villages, old churches, and centuries-old tracks, connecting the miles to the landscape’s history. Entrants might encounter snow, ice, bright sun, sticky mud, or a combination across the two days. The overnight stop adds a social element, with dinner, shared stories, and evening speakers after the first day. It attracts participants seeking a demanding winter trail challenge with support, and its appeal is enhanced by the shared hardship: cold mornings, tired legs, busy aid stations, and a room full of people eating together after a long day outdoors.
