The Wellesley 10K is a flat autumn trail race held in Aldershot. It begins on the polo fields and concludes within the army athletics stadium. Blackwater Valley Runners and the Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community group co-organize the event, which can accommodate approximately 630 participants. The start is distinctive: runners form a line across a field, await the conclusion of the bagpipes, and then proceed together towards the initial turn before finding their pace on the course.
Following one circuit of the field, the route utilizes the canal towpath, enters Wellesley Woods, and then rejoins the canal path prior to the stadium finish. The course is clearly marked and marshalled, offering firm ground and a quick pace for those aiming for a personal best; finishers achieving this can ring the PB bell. All 10K finishers are awarded a medal featuring a Nepali-colored ribbon and depicting the Gurkha Memorial statue honoring the first Gurkha recipient of the Victoria Cross.
