About this race
The West Coast Half Marathon is a flat, point-to-point half marathon in Lancashire. It begins at Preston Docks and concludes beside Fairhaven Lake in Lytham St Annes. The race starts at 10:00 am, employs chip timing, measures the distance in miles, and maintains a small field with a 500-runner cap.
Runners gather at Fairhaven Lake, the race HQ, before taking a shuttle to the start on Navigation Way in Preston. The course departs the docks onto the Guild Wheel, proceeds along roads and paths through Freckleton and Warton, and heads to Lytham St Annes for the finish at the lake. The route is described as flat, with 95 metres of elevation gain, presenting a direct run from Preston to the coast rather than a challenging, hilly course.
