Winchester Half Marathon

The Winchester Half Marathon begins and ends outside the Guildhall in Winchester's center, starting runners directly from one of the city's most recognizable civic structures. This road half marathon features a morning mass start, chip timing, posted race numbers, and permits headphone use. Winchester Youth Counselling organizes the event, with proceeds supporting youth mental health services, distinguishing it from a purely commercial race. The course combines historic Winchester with tranquil countryside, presenting a hilly route with approximately 95 metres of elevation gain, not suited for personal bests. Participants will pass or run near landmarks including St Catherine's Hill, Winchester Cathedral, and the King Alfred the Great statue, extending to the village of Hursley. A 1km Kids Fun Run takes place on the same day, and local clubs and community groups can assist by marshalling, receiving donations or event credit.
