About this race
The Winchester Trail Run begins at Sparsholt College near Winchester, directing participants onto Hampshire tracks, bridleways, and footpaths surrounding Farley Mount. This off-road event, now in its sixth year, offers two route options and attracts over a thousand runners annually. The course features rolling terrain, suitable for novice trail runners while providing a challenge for seasoned participants early in the running calendar.
The course winds through wooded areas and open fields near Farley Mount, a local landmark that forms the primary ascent on the longer route. The Half Marathon route incorporates the climb up Farley Mount, offering expansive views of the Hampshire landscape from its summit. New participants are welcomed, and the event appeals to regular trail runners seeking a well-organized off-road race. It includes chip timing, marshals, refreshments, a medal, a personalised certificate, a cool drink, and finisher gifts.
