About this race
Winter Weavers' Way Ultras is a Norfolk trail-running series on the Weavers' Way, with point-to-point races finishing at Cromer Pier. The shorter ultra starts at Stalham and gives runners 10 hours to reach the coast. Longer options start farther south and east: Acle for the 50-mile race and Great Yarmouth for the 100km race. Walkers are welcome in the 50km event; the minimum race-day age is 20. The event began as the race that launched Boghopper Races, and it maintains a practical winter-ultra setup: checkpoint food and drink, GPS tracking, first aid, start-line parking, a medal, and hot drinks with a light meal at the finish.
The 100km route begins at Broadland-Great Yarmouth Rugby Club, runs beside Breydon Water, crosses Halvergate marshes on a cow-free line to Acle, then follows the River Bure toward Hickling before joining the shorter route at Stalham. From there the course goes through Stalham and North Walsham, passes the estates of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, and drops downhill for the final stretch into Cromer. Conditions can feel wintry without being mountainous: damp, soft trail underfoot, temperatures usually around 6C to 11C, short daylight, and a moderate breeze. Each runner also contributes to Norfolk Trails Team through a small donation built into the entry fee.
