About this race
The World Cup winners 60th anniversary Marathon is a small, themed marathon in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, held in early July. Enigma Running organizes it as part of its novelty race calendar. The event commemorates sixty years since England's World Cup victory, with the entry list limited to 66 marathon places.
The course consists of firm trail laps alongside a lake, entirely free of traffic. Participants receive a medal designed to resemble those awarded to the 1966 World Cup players. The event concludes with a pub at the finish line, differing from a typical large-city finish chute. A 5k race is also held during the World Cup anniversary weekend. The marathon was already full at the time of the listing, aligning with its small-field design.
