19. NN Ultrabalaton

From Balatonfüred and the Annagora Aquapark, this is a single-lap course around Lake Balaton, where the lake itself presents the challenge. The 19th NN Ultrabalaton originated from an idea "first dreamed up in 2007" to create a race exceeding the typical ultra distance. It has since expanded from a modest start to a large event, with "over 25 thousand participants by 2024." The course demands consistency, offering no out-and-back sections; participants complete the entire lake circuit. Runners can compete individually or in relay teams, and cyclists share the same long circuit. This creates a unique atmosphere on the road, blending intense focus, exhaustion, support vehicles, nighttime running, and participants calculating their progress. Completing the race within the time limit earns a finisher medal, while individuals who do not finish still receive a RESPECT commemorative medal acknowledging their effort.
