Below Solymár Castle, on the edge of the Buda hills, SzalamandRUN offers a trail day rather than a standard road race. This second edition combines routes close to nature with staggered starts for adults, children, beginners, casual runners, and those seeking a challenge. The race hub, start, and finish are located beneath the castle, creating a contained, outdoor atmosphere before participants head into the hills.
Expect "forest dirt road and asphalt sections," with painted arrows, ribbons, and signs marking the way. Longer distance runners must carry essentials like a phone and water bottle. The finish area provides standard amenities: timing, refreshments, bag drop, hot food, and a downloadable certificate. The event is organized with environmental awareness, and a simple, traditional reward is given: every finisher receives a medal.
