DECATHLON MOUNTAIN MAN MARATON

From the gym at Deak Ferenc school, the XXV edition heads straight for the hills. The TV Tower, Aranyoslap, and Jankahegy give it the feel of a local runner’s year-end test rather than a polished city loop. The billing states: “as always, again on the hills around town, for everyone,” and that fits a Mountain Man race. The longer routes follow marked red M and red 24 sections through locations like Botfa, Bozsoki-hegy, Csacsi-hegy, Parkerdő, Kaszahaza, Neszele, Gogan-hegy, and Ebergény before returning toward Deak SZKI. The participants include a mixed crowd, from young runners to the “50 and more experienced” groups, with net chip timing from a single-use chip in the bib. A practical detail to remember is the post-race perk: show your bib and you can use the indoor pool, steam room, and sauna after finishing.
