Medvés Trail MTB maraton 2026

Kakuk Lovasudvar hosts the first standalone Medvés Trail MTB marathon, set within the Karancs-Medves region. The course winds past Salgó Castle, Somoskő Castle, Karancs lookout, the Mining Museum, Macskalyuki mine, and Novohrad Geopark trails. This event builds on previous years' starts held in the valley below Salgó Castle, now establishing its own marathon race and becoming part of the XCM Pro Tour and XCM Hungarian Cup. The race emphasizes true mountain biking with technical, single-track trails developed with local riders. It is designed for participants who prefer challenging terrain over smooth gravel. The start-finish area provides essential amenities for riders, such as parking, showers, a bike wash, covered stands, rest areas, and shelter. In addition to the main MTB competition, the venue offers children's races, beginner-friendly hobby laps, pedelec rides, family activities, food vendors, an expo, and a skills track.
